2022 Richmond Open

Where: Executive Hotel Vancouver Airport, 7311 Westminster Hwy, Richmond, BC (10-minute walk from Brighouse sky train station)


Rounds: 5 Round Swiss January 14-16, 2022 : Fri 6pm, Sat. 10am and 3pm, Sun 10am and 3pm


Sections: Premier, U1500, U1000 (all CFC rated).  BC v Washington match will share facilities

 

Prizes:    $2,300 Minimum Guaranteed Prize Fund:

  • Premier 1st $500 + trophy, top U1600 $250
  • U1500 1st $400 + trophy, top U1300 $200, top unrated $200
  • U1000 1st $300 + trophy, 2nd $150, top unrated $200
  • Top woman (best score in any section) $100

 

Entry Fee: $70 on or before Dec 14th, $80 before noon on Jan 13th. $95 on site (if space available). $20 to play up a section if lifetime high rating within 100 points, $40 if within 200 points. Unrated players wishing to play up contact organizer.  $10 discount for 2nd or higher same family.  Full refund if notice given prior to noon on Jan 13th.


Time Control: Game/90 +30 sec. increment


Accommodation: Executive Hotel Vancouver Airport 604-278-5555, $149 single/double (mention BC Washington Chess or group code 92346 when booking).  Free parking for guests. $8/day or $20 for three days for other players (purchase tickets at tournament registration desk).  


Registration: Online .  On site if space available up to 5pm on 14 Jan.


Misc: 

  • Players must have current CFC membership or purchase tournament membership when registering $16 adult/$8 junior under 20 yrs (good for one event).  Free tournament membership for new unrated Canadian residents playing in U1000 section.  You can buy a CFC membership either during our registration process or directly from the CFC here.
