2022 BC Day Open

Where: Executive Airport Plaza Hotel, 7311 Westminster Hwy, Richmond, BC (10-minute walk from Brighouse sky train station)
Rounds: Sat. noon and 5pm, Sun. 10am and 3pm, Mon. 10am and 3pm
Sections: Premier (FIDE and CFC rated), U1800, U1500, U1000 (all CFC rated)
Prize Fund: $3,500 Minimum Guaranteed
• Premier $700/$400/U2000 $200
• U1800 $600/$400
• U1500 $400/$200
• U1000 $300/$200
• Top woman who has not won another prize. (best score in tournament, any section counts). One prize of $100
Unrated players are eligible for section prizes
Entry Fee: $80 on or before July 13th, $90 on or before noon on Wednesday July 27th. No on-site registration. You may play up a section up to 200 rating points above your rating. Add $20 if playing up and your current rating is within 100 points of the section boundary. Add $40 if playing up and your current rating is more than 100 points of the section boundary. Unrated players may play in U1000 or U1500 section without play-up fee and are eligible for prizes. $20 discount for 2nd or higher same family. $10 discount for new unrated players. 100% refund if notified by noon on Friday July 29th. Free entry for GM/IM/WGM/WIM if entered by July 13th
Time Control: Game/90 +30 sec. increment
Accommodation: Executive Airport Plaza Hotel 604-278-5555, $209 single/double (mention chess tournament when booking). Very few rooms available. Free parking with hotel room. $8/day for other players (purchase tickets at entrance to playing hall).
Registration: Online: No onsite registration.
Misc:
• Current CFC membership required. Annual $38/$25 adult/junior, purchase from CFC or add to registration. Instead of annual CFC membership, players may purchase a tournament membership (TM) for $16/$8 junior adult/ (good for one event only) add to registration.
