Rounds. Friday 5pm, Saturday 10 am and 3 pm, Sunday 10 am and 3 pm
Time Control. game in 90 minutes with 30 second increment
Sections. Premier and U1550
Prizes. $2200 Guaranteed.
Premier Section (CFC/FIDE rated): 1st 500, 2nd $300, U1750 $400
U1550 Section (CFC rated): 1st 300, 2nd $200, U1300 $200
Top Unrated: $200, Top Woman: $100 (one prize, player can be from any section)
Note: unrated players not eligible for prizes specified by rating
Victoria Cup. Victoria Championship trophy will be awarded to top player residing in area bounded by Sidney to Sooke to Victoria.
Entry Fee. $75 on or before 10 December, $90 by noon on Wednesday 7 January. No onsite registration. U1550 players rated 1400 or higher may play up to Premier section. Add $30 to entry fee. Family discount $20. Unrated players may play up to the Premier section without extra fee. First family member pays full fee, remainder get discount.
Recommended Accommodation: Holiday Inn, 4670 Elk Lake Drive (10 minute walk). 250-704-4656. There is no special chess rate but prices are reasonable
